THE STORY
Fronted by unique singer/songwriter Tia Marklund, bassplayer Fredrik Jonsson and Bjorn Billgren(guitar) and the true "Glimmer Twins" David and Daniel Israelsson(guitar resp. drums), DJCO was originally formed in the the year 2001. Even though the very first recordings were done in Gröndalsstudion(sthlm), all band members hail from the music scene in Umeå, except Björn who is from Lund.
This northern city, though, was the bands base for the first two years while creating the unique sound of The Circus.
After a handful of shows in Sweden the band was asked to do some club gigs in New York City in the spring of 2003. During the visit they ended up recording their first single at Smash Studios in Manhattan, which became the starting point for the work on their fullength debut.
In the years that followed DJCO released their self titled and critically acclaimed debut album( Freebird Records, 2004), toured europe twice and headlined at the Eurosonic Festival in 2005. Today DJCO reside in Stockholm and their new EP was released in Feb-06.Touring US once again in aug/sep - this time the west coast.
